About Me

Since 1992, Dr. Belinda Smith has provided knowledge to learners using technology. Her case study about the training program she employed to transition over a thousand employees from a paper-based work environment to a computer-based work environment was published by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) in 1994. Dr. Smith also presented her case study at an ASTD international conference.

As computer technology usage increased in instructional programs, Dr. Smith adroitly engaged e-learners using synchronous and asynchronous learning modules. However, not satisfied with just her perspective of how to motivate and engage learners in a web-based environment, Dr. Smith’s dissertation focused on how to engage adult e-learners using synchronous and asynchronous learning modules.

In the 1990’s, Dr. Smith’s vision was to “give learners control of their learning”. In the 2000′s, Dr. Smith is using synchronous, asynchronous, and adaptive e-learning modules to motivate students to achieve their learning goals. If you need techniques to motivate e-learners based on research and real world experiences, contact Dr. Smith today.
